Uma completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics from the University of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. She earned a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, India, with doctoral research focused on the synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of properties of lanthanum ferrite–based doped materials for advanced energy applications. Her research work involved designing tailored compositions, optimizing microstructural study, and investigating their electrochemical, catalytic, and functional properties to enhance performance in energy applications. Here, at IREC, she is optimizing the formation and conductivity of the Na-NASICON solid electrolyte using ultra-fast high-temperature sintering (UHS) for applications in Na-ion batteries.
