Gianluca holds a Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master degree in Materials and Process Engineering, both obtained at the University of Trieste (Italy). During his Master’s Thesis, conducted at the Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoff-Forschung Baden-Württemberg (Germany), he shifted his focus to Materials for Energy applications, working on in-operando XRD analysis of third-generation Lithium-ion battery electrodes. After a brief period at the University of Trieste as a research collaborator, he joined IREC in October 2025 to work as an R&D Engineer on a project focused on developing a thermoelectric hydrogen sensor for a battery management system.
