Guilherme is a Chemical Engineer from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and holds a chemical technician degree from the Educational Institute São João da Escócia, both in Brazil. He believes that the energy transition topic is no longer a discussion about the future but a problem for the present. As a result, he has been working on Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) research since 2022, studying techniques for the deposition of thin films to act as a barrier layer, improving the lifetime of SOFCs. Guilherme’s work on IREC is funded by the state of São Paulo and aims to optimize Rapid Thermal Process annealing for SOFC´s thin films, consequently helping to lower the manufacturing cost and time needed to build these devices.
