Marc Bertrand holds a dual M.Sc. in Chemistry and Physics from ENSMAC (formerly ENSCBP) and the University of Bordeaux, where he studied the magnetic and electromagnetic properties of materials. He continued his studies with a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry applied to electrochemistry, awarded in 2023 by the Université de Montréal, focusing on the assembly of oxide-based all-solid-state ceramic batteries in collaboration with TotalEnergies. He then pursued a postdoctoral position in the LCES group, working with the startup IgnisLithium on scaling up LiFePO₄ synthesis via melt processing. In parallel, he conducted research on the safety of lithium metal batteries. Marc joined IREC in Barcelona in July 2025, where he currently works on all-solid-state ceramic batteries.
